UP Sunken Garden

The Sunken Garden would be the most famous landmark of the University of the Philippines System. Surrounded by academic buildings and lush green fields, it is a depression in the landscape, appearing as though a meteor had crashed into the earth. It is encircled by acacia trees and bordered by the College of Arts and Letters, the Main Library, and the Faculty Center. While it is not known exactly who designed the Sunken Garden, it is believed to have been part of the original master plan of the campus designed by American architect William Parsons.
