The Immaculate Conception Cathedral was canonically erected on July 15, 1950, and was turned over by the Jesuits to the Archdiocese of Manila in 1978 and eventually to the newly created Diocese of Cubao in 2003. It is home to the ivory image of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a replica of the image enshrined in the Manila Cathedral. The church has remained the Cathedral for the Bishop of the Diocese of Cubao, which comprises 10 cities in Metro Manila, including Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, and Mandaluyong.
